currently, i am in a gym phase. let me preface, i really like to run but chicago winters do not lend itself to this activity. i decided that in order to not get fat, i needed to join a gym. i soon became obsessed with spin and yoga. now, i work out 6 times a week... i am hoping this phase doesn't go away! i mean, how can working out be a bad thing...
spin class has me listening to techno and techno-remixed top 40 songs (to be clear, i only listen to this music in class). the past two classes a song has played that really got me thinking. i am not sure if t-pain or akon "sings" it or what the actual title of the song is. basically, "live like you are never going to wake up" is repeated. the idea behind the song is to party so hard that one night because you may not live to see the morning. oh, the implications..... while "biking" up my 8 minute hill with crazy levels of resistance, i began thinking about this mentality - about people living with essentially no hope, just living to live. thankfully, the lights were off in the room because i started tearing up. i can't imagine a life without the hope i have in jesus.
